The European Future Internet Assembly (FIA), is a collaboration between projects that have recognised the need to strengthen European activities on the Future Internet to maintain European competitiveness in the global marketplace. FIA events are organised twice a year as a conference where people from the different research domains meet each other and discuss cross cutting research results and trends in an interactive manner.
Currently FIA brings together around 150 research projects that are part of Challenge 1 of the ICT programme of 7th Framework Programme. These projects are advancing the state of the art in: The network of the future, Cloud Computing, Internet of Services and Advanced Software Engineering, Internet-connected objects, Trustworthy ICT, Networked Media and Search Systems, Socio-economic considerations for the Future Internet, Application domains for the Future Internet, Future Internet Research and Experimentation.
FIA is open to all researchers engaged in Future Internet research to contribute and participate towards FIA’s goals.
The Future Internet Assembly will be held in Poznan, Poland on 25-26 October 2011. The FIA is part of the Future Internet Week in Poznan (24-28 October 2011) that includes a large number of adjucent events, such as the ServiceWave conference, the FIRE event, the Future Internet Forum, the Internet of Things conference and many more.
